Scarlett Johansson, American actress (born on the 22nd of November 1985, in New York City New York) is well-known for her ability to act across different genres ranging from period dramas to thrillers to action adventures. Johansson was the daughter of an architect as well as a producer, was born as a child in New York City. Hunter was twin to her younger sister. As a child she started acting. At seven she was already auditioning for a number of commercials. To improve her acting skills, she joined classes at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in Manhattan and then the Professional Children's School. At the age of eight old, she starred with Ethan Hawke as Sophistry in an Off-Broadway show. When she was nine, she debuted in Rob Reiner's North (1994). Johansson made her debut as a character in Just Cause, but she was first seen in Manny & Lo, a film about orphaned siblings who flee. She next earned critical acclaim for her role in the film as a teen who been injured in a horrific accident in The Horse Whisperer (1998) as well as further recognition in the role of a sarcastic teen exiled Rebecca on the set of Ghost World (2001). She also worked in other projects throughout the USA and Canada, but Wildflower was her first onstage performance.
